Guru gorakhnath ki ladai

You must have heard of Vedic Mantras that are written in Sanskrit. They have been described in the Holy Vedas and other Hindu religious texts. They were written by ancient Rishis and Sages. However, there is another type of mantras known as Shabar Mantras. They are immensely powerful and effective. They bring quick results for the practitioner. He championed Yoga and reached Samadhi, the ultimate state of bliss and union with the Supreme Being.

These spiritual masters have described him as a very powerful leader having a large following. So, Gorakhnath must have lived around the time when these spiritual leaders lived in India.

Gorakhnath was responsible for the expansion of Nath Sampradaya. He produced a number of writings. The date of birth and the place of birth of Guru Gorakhnath are not known and recorded in history.

However, there is a popular legend that is associated with the birth of Guru Gorakhnath. Once upon a time, Guru Matsyendranath arrived in a small village. There he met a woman who was in deep sorrow. Guru Matsyendranath inquired the reason for her sadness.

Guru Matsyendranath took out some powerful bhasma from his bag and gave it to the lady. He told the woman that she would soon become a mother. However, the woman told the whole thing to her friends. They all laughed and said that Matsyendranath had fooled her.

After 12 years, Guru Matsyendranath again visited the village and met the same lady.Yogi Gorakhnath also known as Goraksanath[3] c.

His followers are found in India at the place known as Garbhagiri which is in Ahmednagar in the state of Maharashtra. These followers are called yogisGorakhnathiDarshani or Kanphata. He was one of nine saints also known as Navnath and is widely popular in Maharashtra, India. Estimates based on archaeology and text range from Briggs' 15th- to 12th-century [7] to Grierson's estimate of the 14th-century.

Gorakhnath is considered a Maha-yogi or great yogi in the Hindu tradition. Gorakhnath, his ideas and yogis have been highly popular in rural India, with monasteries and temples dedicated to him found in many states of India, particularly in the eponymous city of Gorakhpur. Historians vary in their estimate on when Gorakhnath lived.

Estimates based on archaeology and text range from Briggs' 11th- to 12th-century [7] to Baba Farid documents and Jnanesvari manuscripts leading Abbott to connect Gorakhnath to the 13th-century, [12] to Grierson who relying on evidence discovered in Gujarat suggests the 14th-century.

Historical texts imply that Gorakhnath was originally a Buddhist in a region influenced by Shaivism, and he converted to Hinduism championing Shiva and Yoga. The hagiography on Gorakhnath describe him to have appeared on earth several times. These hagiographies are inconsistent, and offer varying records of the spiritual descent of Gorakhnath. All name Adinath and Matsyendranath as two teachers preceding him in the succession.

Though one account lists five gurus preceding Adinath and another lists six teachers between Matsyendranath and Gorakhnath, current tradition has Adinath identified with Lord Shiva as the direct teacher of Matsyendranathwho was himself the direct teacher of Gorakhnath. The legends in the Nath tradition assert that he travelled widely across the Indian subcontinent, and accounts about him are found in some form in several places including NepalPunjabSindhUttar PradeshUttarakhandAssamTripuraBengalOdishaKathiawar GujaratMaharashtraKarnatakaand even Sri Lanka.

The Nath tradition states that its traditions existed before Gorakhnath, but the movement's greatest expansion happened under the guidance and inspiration of Gorakhnath. He produced a number of writings and even today is considered the greatest of the Naths.

It has been purported that Gorakhnath wrote the first books on Laya yoga. In India there are many caves, many with temples built over them, where it is said that Gorakhnath spent time in meditation. According to Bhagawan Nityanandathe samadhi shrine tomb of Gorakhnath is at Nath Mandir near the Vajreshwari temple about one kilometre from Ganeshpuri, MaharashtraIndia.

They are also instrumental in laying Shivlingam at Kadri and Dharmasthala.

There is also a famous temple of Gorakhnath in the state of Odisha. The Gorakhnath Math is a monastery of the Nath monastic group named after the medieval saint, Gorakhnath c. The math and town of Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh is named after him. The monastery and the temple perform various cultural and social activities and serve as the cultural hub of the city.

The monastery also publishes texts on the philosophy of Gorakhnath. Some scholars associate the origins of Hatha yoga with the Nath yogis, in particular Gorakhnath and his guru Matsyendranath.

While the origins of Hatha yoga are disputed, according to Guy Beck, a professor of Religious Studies known for his studies on Yoga and music, "the connections between Goraknath, the Kanphatas and Hatha yoga are beyond question".

The Gurkhas of Nepal and Indian Gorkhas take their name from this saint. He has long been considered the rastradevata lord of state of Nepal, with his name appearing on numerous versions of Nepalese coins and currency notes. There is a cave with his paduka footprints and an idol of him. Every year on the day of Baisakh Purnima there is a great celebration in Gorkha at his cave, called Rot Mahotsav; it has been celebrated for the last seven hundred years.Maghar is the place where Kabir breathed his last.

The poet and mystic, along with Nanak, Namdev, Chaitanya and Jnanesvara among others represented a stream of practice and thought popularly known as the Bhakti movement, which spanned medieval India and stressed on devotion, tolerance, harmony and fraternal love.

He also stated that the three were contemporaneous- assembling at Maghar to discuss spiritual matters. A close look at the history of medieval India, however, belies this claim.

Let us look at each of these names and the years in which they are believed to have lived. Kabir, mystic saint and poet whose dohas are recited to this day, has been placed by most historians in the 15th century CE although the dates are not conclusive. David Lorenzen, author and scholar of South Asian history in his paper Who Invented Hinduism states that Kabir lived through the 15th century.

Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism and another famous proponent of nirguna bhakti belongs to the 15th and 16th centuries.

He is said to have lived till CE. PM Modi is correct to the extent that both Kabir and Nanak were contemporaries. There are also many similarities in their teachings, and both poet-saints are said to have inspired and influenced each other.

But what about Gorakhnath? Gorakhnath is considered to be the founder of the nath movement, which is a Shaivite yogic tradition. He is credited with setting up the monastic order of the movement. According to numerous scholars, Gorakhnath lived in the 12th century CE, the period when the nath movement flourished. While it may be said that the poem was written not later thanit may have been written earlier. This is corroborated by Indologist and scholar Dr. There are two references to conversations or dialogues which supposedly took place between Kabir, Nanak and Gorakhnath.

However, scrutiny of the verses have led scholars to conclude that references to these dialogues are allegoricaland that Gorakhnath was born much earlier than Kabir and Nanak.

Depending on the context, PM Modi laces his oratory with historical references, but he has been caught on the wrong foot on earlier occasions too. It is true that both Nanak and Kabir were inspired by the teachings of Gorakhnath which manifests in their devotional hymns. It is also true that legends speak of dialogues between them, but legends are not fact. The weight of scholarly opinion definitively places Gorakhnath at least three centuries apart from Nanak and Kabir.Ek din dewarshi narayan unke mahel bohoche wo unki bhagti or dan dharam se bohot khush hue unhone raja jewar ap udas kyo hai to unhone ka prabhu me apne vansh ke liye pareshan hu me or meri patni ham dono ko sansar abhaga kehete hai narayan ji bole raja tum ek kam karo ek nolakha baag or khue lagwa do is se jo pashu janwar bhook piyas mita payinege.

His voice or sound is extremely melodious like that of an innocent kid or child. How would you name, or give name to, Him? That is, He can't be ascribed any name.

Commentary:— Other sants have also expressed similar opinions regarding unfeasibility of giving a name to God.

Did Kabir, Nanak and Gorakhnath ‘sit together’ and discuss spirituality as claimed by PM Modi?

For instance, please have a look at the following references: "Jaakaa naam akahuaa bhaai Taakar kahaan ramainee gayee " — Sant Kabir Sahab [His name is indescribable; how would you repeat or recite His name? He can not be brought within the ambit of reading and writing, or being represented by means of any alphabets. He is unborn, eternal, conscious and full of never-ending bliss. He is beyond everything or all domains.

He decays or declines never.

Guru Gorakhnath Shabar Mantra

He is supernatural or transcendental. His voice, word or name emanates from the top of the sky or the place of origin of the creation, and keeps ringing throughout the universe or creation as an exceptionally sweet, charming melodious sound. This sound is phonetic or onomatopoeic and, hence, indescribable.

His sound has been said to be coming from the domain of sky because God is believed to be beyond all elements of nature. It is only on reaching into this domain that God can be seen or realised. One should look for the soul here only. Again, He has been likened to a small kid or toddler for the reason that He, too, is untouched by any sins or virtues just as a kid is.

Meditating on the inner sound, the practitioner upon entering into the divine conduit Sushumna passes sequentially through different spheres of sounds in the increasing order of their subtlety or fineness to eventually arrive into the realm of the subtlest sound and is able to realise God in the end.
